Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) under the auspices of Benjamin Bissan Shekari Lives On Foundation (BBSLOF) has donated relief materials to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Zonkwa, Zango Kataf local government Area of Kaduna State.
The executive Director BBSLOF Rifkatu Shakari, while delivering the items urged the IDPs to be strong and not to loose hope.
The relief materials distributed includes; 10 bags of 100kg rice, 2 bags of 100kg beans, 2bags of 100kg maize and 500 pieces of blankets.
The Director equally called on other NGOs, government and wealthy Nigerians to support and encourage internally displaced persons.
Also speaking, the Mercy IDPs camp coordinator Reverend Gambo Waziri disclosed that over 2016 individuals are being displaced in 3 communities, he said.
Rev. Waziri while recalled that 25 people were killed, 10 injured in recent attack in Zonkwa, 6 people are receiving treatment in St. Louis hospital Zonkwa, he said.
Also speaking, one of the resident of Zonkwa community, Bala Ali called on Kaduna state government to put in more efforts to ensure peace in the state, saying that one of the principle responsibility of government is to protect lives and properties of the citizens.
Bala also appreciated the efforts of BBSLOF and encouraged other NGOs to assists IDPs.
