The General Overseer of Restoration Bible Church and Ministries International, Reverend Tunde Bolanta, has fed no fewer than 400 less privilege families in Kaduna weekly for 4 years and through the scheme tagged, Restoration Ministries Food Bank.
The Coordinator of Restoration Ministry food bank, Barrister Obehi Ehizogie disclosed this while answering questions from newsmen whose attention were attracted to the point of distribution as people queued in orderly manner receiving packages of raw food.
Barrister Ehizogie also disclosed that the scheme is targeted at ensuring that the needy are catered for, the hungry are fed and the broken hearted are comforted both physically and spiritually according to Biblical injunction, she said.
“The programme called Restoration Food Bank is to meet the needs of the needy around and has been running consistently since 2016. Reverend Bolanta has been making funds available for the food.
He has been doing it even before COVID-19 and even during the pandemic, he sustained it”.
Barrister Ehizogie who is also a member of the church for 20 years said “the gesture is in line with the scripture, that encourages Christians to reach out to the needy”.
She explained that the challenges they are facing is the economic hardship, adding that cost of a bag of rice has gone up which makes it more difficult to purchase, But God is still helping the pastor to keep it going, she said.
“We share rice, macaroni, spaghetti, and other items, sometimes we distribute eggs and fishes”.
She also appealed to other churches, individuals and well meaning Nigerians to always reach out to the poor, adding that by giving to the needy it will reduce poverty rate in the country, she said.
Also speaking to newsmen, a beneficiary, Akor Emmanuel, thanks Pastor Bolanta for the gesture.
“We are here to collect food from the food bank, it goes to over 400 people and it happens every week, I want to thank Pastor Bolanta for the gesture” .
The General Overseer of the ministry, Restoration Bible Church and Ministries International, Reverend Tunde Bolanta, also affirms that no fewer than 400 families benefit from the weekly foodstuff distributed to the needy in the society.
According to him, “beneficiaries are not just members of the church, but those who indicated interests to benefit from the gesture”.
In appreciation, a widow, Mrs Mary Paul, who communicates with our reporters in Pidgin English said that besides the foodstuff, she has been experiencing better health since she started fellowshipping at Restoration Ministries.
Also speaking, another beneficiary who is also a widow said “I have been a widow for 20 years, every week I collect food stuff, may God bless pastor Bolanta”.
